Marine-grade plywood panel at the waterline

IS 710 marine grade

Marine Plywood

Marine grade plywood marked to IS 710 — the highest bonding specification in ordinary supply, tested to extended boil cycles for permanently damp and demanding environments.

Specifying marine plywood

What to know before you order

IS 710 is a stricter standard than IS 303: it sets requirements for glue shear strength after prolonged immersion in boiling water, and for the quality of the veneers themselves.

Specify marine grade where the panel will be permanently damp, in contact with water, or where failure would be expensive to put right — boat interiors, water tank enclosures, exterior-adjacent structures and heavy-duty formwork.

It is also the sensible choice for a kitchen base unit, where floors get mopped and pipes occasionally weep.
