Gurjan-faced plywood sheets stacked in a warehouse

Gurjan face veneer, alternate red-white construction

Gurjan Plywood

Plywood built with a Gurjan face veneer over an alternate red-white core, marked to IS 303. The dense Gurjan face gives a hard, even surface that takes lamination and polish cleanly.

Specifying gurjan plywood

What to know before you order

Gurjan is valued for face veneer because it is dense and closely grained. That gives a harder surface than most alternatives, so the panel resists surface denting and holds a laminate or polish without telegraphing the core beneath it.

Alternate red-white construction refers to the core layup — alternating hardwood species through the thickness. Built properly it produces a balanced panel that stays flat, which matters most on wide shutters and long shelves.

Every panel in this group is marked to IS 303 and treated against termite and borer attack.
